Founders and Directors

Saving Lives Foundation was founded by three individuals who have been involved in fund raising activities for various organizations for the past 18 years. Their commitment is to provide financial help to charities that focus on research targeted at saving the lives of their patients.

Matthew (Matt) I. Cohen (Deceased) Matthew was a co-founder of Saving Lives Foundation and was the principle of Cohen Law Group, a small law firm operating in Philadelphia and its suburbs.  Matthew’s personal practice concentrated in intellectual property and commercial law.  He was a registered patent attorney, and held a BA in Communications from Temple University and a BSEE from Drexel University.  Matthew worked in the industrial electronics industry for over 10 years prior to attending law school at Temple University.  Matthew was seriously cycling for six years, and had participated in a number of long distance cycling events to benefit the American Cancer Society, the MS Society and the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.  Matthew had been fund raising for non-profit organizations for a number of years, and was a board member of Ready, Set, Live, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping the survivors of cancer, in particular, breast cancer, renew their lives after treatment and surgery.  Matthew also volunteered on a regular basis with Habitat for Humanity, and provided pro bono legal services through the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent program.

Michael (Mike) Ferris Co-Founder, Executive Director, Saving Lives Foundation; Co-Founder, Diverse Healthcare Solutions Mike Ferris is Co-Founder of Saving Lives Foundation as well as Co-Founder of Diverse Healthcare Solutions. Diverse Healthcare Solutions is a healthcare solutions company that focuses on bringing new technology and service companies to the forefront of the healthcare industry. Mr. Ferris has over 40 years of health care experience.  He has demonstrated the ability to drive significant costs out of the supply operations of healthcare facilities. He is a current member of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHRMM) for over 20 years. He also served as a member-elected AHRMM Board Representative from 2001 – 2003 and is currently serving a second board term with AHRMM as the first elected Non-Provider Board Representative. He holds the American Hospital Association’s CMRP designation as well as the Lifetime Fellow status within AHRMM. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cabrini College and his MBA from West Chester University. He has been involved in fund raising activities for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Multiple Sclerosis Society since 1995.

Lorraine (Lori) Ferris Co-Founder, Saving Lives Foundation; Project Manager/Realtor, The Moser Group Lori Ferris is Co-Founder of Saving Lives Foundation as well as a project manager for The Moser Group, a residential builder in Montgomery County, PA. Prior to joining the Moser Group Lori spent thirteen years in Data Management at a Clinical Research Organization followed by a few years at a genetic research company. She held various positions in the data management field including Vice President of Data Management at Omnicare. She graduated from Millersville University with a degree in elementary education and taught Kindergarten for five years before changing career paths. She has been participating in endurance events for Leukemia and Lymphoma’s Team In Training program since 1995. This was the beginning of her fund raising experience and has continued since. She has completed over 35 endurance events since 1995 including 3 day 50 mile walks, marathons, half marathons, triathlons and century rides and has raised well over $200,000 for causes related to saving lives.

Kathleen (Kathy) Zamorski Development Director, Saving Lives Foundation; Paralegal, Butler Snow LLP Kathy Zamorski is the Development Director for Saving Lives Foundation as well as a paralegal for Butler Snow LLP. Prior to joining Butler Snow, Kathy worked at Elliott Greenleaf & Siedzikowski for seven (7) years.  While she was at Elliott Greenleaf, she organized the Holidays For Heroes program and joined State Senator Stewart Greenleaf at the Willow Grove Air Base in Horsham for the distribution of the toys.  Kathy has been involved in the Montgomery County Paralegal Association for over 12 years, serving on such positions as Board Member, 1st Vice President. She has also been involved in the Wills for Heroes Program to prepare simple Wills, Power of Attorneys and Healthcare Directives for First Responders in Montgomery and Bucks County. Kathy and her family have been an active part of the 21st Ward Veterans Association annual picnic for Coatesville Veterans.  Prior to Kathy entering the workplace, she was a homemaker raising her two children, made the decision to attend school and receive her paralegal certification, while participating and holding positions on the Home and School Association and as Chairperson of the largest fundraiser for the school.  Kathy has participated in several half marathons for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), and has been continually and actively involved in supporting the LLS Team in Training in fundraising efforts since 1995.
